Wedgewood Swim Club |
Information | Program Levels | Private Lessons
Wedgewood offers swimming lessons to teach the fundamentals of swimming and to build confidence in the water. We do not attempt to teach a variety of skills like the Red Cross or "Y" programs.
The program is open to members who are 4 years old as of May 31 of this year, and who do not have a green swimmer's tag. Four-year olds who do not have water confidence will be assigned to the second session. This will give them more "water time" with their parents to develop readiness. Also the water is warmer at this time.
The staff reserves the right to reject, delay, or advance a member's participation based on space, grouping or readiness.
Lessons are an extra service provided by our staff. They are not a right of membership and no one is entitled to them simply by paying their dues. The staff takes as many participants as they can handle comfortably and safely. The selection system, while not perfect, is workable and fair.
Selected members of our staff are available for private swim lessons. The charge and time are handled on an individual basis between the participant and instructor. Participation is limited by instructor availability and available pool time. Detail sheets are at the club desk.
